If you’re planning a big family trip, a 30 day US tour, or a weekend ski adventure with your friends, we want you to feel comfortable renting a van from Greenvans. We want you to know that you can count on us when it comes to providing the highest quality 15 passenger van rentals along with the kind of customer service that will exceed your expectations.

We know navigating the car rental industry can be difficult. Whether you’re searching for 15 passenger van rental Philadelphia, Providence, Richmond, or New York – you’re looking for a specialty vehicle. That can be a challenge.

There are a lot of companies out there. It seems too easy to find yourself with bad luck, a bad vehicle, and a support staff that doesn’t do everything they possibly can to help you navigate a difficult situation.

We’ve heard all the horror stories.

If you’re a paranoid mom of 5 planning a family vacation and you’re nervous about working with a small company you’ve never heard of, you’ve come to the right spot!

We’re not a big brand name rental company. You might not yet trust Greenvans enough to put your family vacation in our hands. That’s ok! We don’t take it personally. We hope you’ll give us the chance to demonstrate to you that Greenvans is exceptional at what we do. We’re here to help. We are your allies, not your adversaries. We want you to feel comfortable with us from the first email to the day you return your van.

If you’re looking to rent a passenger van in Philadelphia, Richmond, Providence, or New York – Read on! We’ve gone ahead and answered some of your most common van rental questions below.

The most important question: is my passenger van rental reservation guaranteed?

Yes!

Most rental companies, especially the big guys, are vehicle rental companies. The rental agencies you’ll find at the airport have a huge inventory of cars, trucks, minivans, passenger vans, etc. Let’s say you make a reservation with a large airport rental company for example. They will guarantee you a vehicle, but that doesn’t 100% mean they will guarantee you the exact vehicle you need.

If you’re trying to rent a 15 passenger van at Philadelphia International Airport for a large group of people who have to travel together, a last minute change to two minivans won’t do the trick.

Greenvans is a 15 passenger van rental company in Providence, Philadelphia, Richmond, and New York. That means we ONLY rent 15 passenger vans. We don’t rent cars, trucks, or minivans. We keep things simple and easy: we only rent one size and style of Ford Transit Medium Roof 15 passenger van.

That means that the van you reserve is the van you get, guaranteed!

Question: How much storage space is there in the back of your rental vans?

When our vans are configured to seat 15 people, there isn’t very much luggage space between the last row of seats and the rear doors. You can fit small duffle bags or backpacks, and there’s a small amount of room under the seats for backpacks and small bags.

If you’re traveling with fewer than 15 people in your van, we can remove the back row of seats. This will give you about an extra 3 feet of cargo space between the third row of seats the rear doors. This would make your van an 11 passenger van with a TON of cargo room for luggage. (If you’re looking for a 12 seat passenger van, it’s worth taking a second to learn about how the external measurements are the same as the 15-passenger van.)

A 15 passenger Transit van with the back row of seats removed will fit 10 to 15 roll-aboard and carry-on sized bags.

If you’re a touring band, a film crew, or any group of up to 8 people with a need for a lot more cargo and luggage space, we can remove the back two rows of seats for you. This will make your van an 8 passenger van with about 4.5 feet of cargo space in the back.

Question: Can I tow a trailer with one of your vans?

Absolutely!

All of our vans come standard with a class 3 factory tow hitch rated for up to 8,000 lbs.

The towing capacity for our Ford Medium Roof Transit 350 XLT 15 passenger vans is 4,500 lbs. That’s roughly about the weight of a fully loaded uhaul 6×12 trailer. Our vans have wiring for flat 4 and 7-pin trailer connections.

Please note: We do not provide a dar bar & ball along with the tow hitch receiver.  Please be prepared to bring your own draw bar and correct size ball mount for the trailer you’ll be towing.

Question: Do you need a special license to drive one of your vans?

You don’t need a special license to drive or rent a 15 passenger van from Greenvans.

Anybody who plans to drive one of our vans DOES need to have their own personal auto insurance policy. This policy must include primary liability and collision coverage in order to be eligible to drive.

If you’re renting a 15 passenger van in Philadelphia, or if you’re renting a 15 passenger van in Richmond, we do offer insurance coverage from these locations.

If you don’t have your own personal auto policy or you don’t want to use your own, you may purchase primary liability, collision, and supplemental liability coverage from us.

Check out our insurance page here if you’d like to learn more about the types of insurance coverage that we offer.

Question: Can I pay for my van rental with a debit card, or do I need a major credit card?

Yes! We prefer that you pay the deposit and balance for your van rental with a major credit card, but we do accept debit cards as well.

If you do decide to pay with a debit card, we’ll place a $250 hold on your card in addition to the rental fee for the duration of your rental.

Question: What are your rental requirements?

All of your drivers must carry their own personal auto insurance policy with collision and liability coverage to be eligible to drive. If you are renting a passenger van in Richmond or Philadelphia, you may purchase insurance coverage from Greenvans for your rental if you don’t have your own or don’t want to use your own coverage.

All drivers must be 25 or older. However, we are able to make certain exceptions for drivers aged 21-24 with advance approval from Greenvans. Please contact us if you need approval for drivers under 25. Nobody under 21 is allowed to drive our vans under any circumstances.

We require 30% of the total quoted rental fee to reserve the van. Once you pay the reservation deposit your van is confirmed and guaranteed. The balance of the rental is due when you come to pick up your van.

If you’re a touring band booking a rental longer than 30 days, we offer a weekly payment plan. Please contact us prior to making your reservation if you’re interested in learning more.

Check out our FAQ page here if you’d like to learn more about our van rental requirements.

Question: Can we have more than one driver registered on our van rental agreement?

Of course! You may add as many drivers you need to your rental agreement. We don’t charge for additional drivers as long as each driver meets our rental requirements. They must have their own personal auto policy. If they do not, you have purchased our full insurance coverage for your rental, or you’ve provided us with a COI for commercial coverage.

Please submit all of your drivers through the link in the confirmation email you received at the time of your reservation.

Question: Are there service centers or places where we can go that are affiliated with Greenvans if we have a mechanical issue with our 15 passenger van rental during our trip?

We are VERY proactive when it comes to preventive maintenance. All of our vans are either brand new or one model year old and dealer serviced before and after every rental.

We take great care of our vans to make sure you’re safe and you’re traveling with peace of mind.

That said, any problem you encounter on the road is our problem, too. Although rare, mechanical issues happen. The most common problems we see are flat tires, dead batteries and the occasional broken window or windshield.

Our van rentals include roadside assistance through Ford for any serviceable issues (jump start, key lockout, jump start, changing a flat tire) etc.

If you experience any kind of mechanical issue our team is available to help solve the problem with you. We’re very proactive when it comes to getting your van issue solved as fast as possible so that you’re not left stranded or knocked too far off your planned travel schedule.

If there’s a major mechanical issue that leaves the van undrivable, we’ll cover the cost of a tow to the nearest Ford dealer. Our team will assess the situation and determine how long it will take to get you back on the road, and if we can’t get you repaired and up and running in a reasonable amount of time, we’ll rush a new van to you from our nearest location.

Greenvans will cover the cost of up to two hotel rooms per night if there’s a mechanical issue with one of our vans that leaves you hanging for more than a day.

Our Ford Roadside Assistance number is: 1-800-241-3673

The Greenvans customer emergency line will be located at the top of your rental agreement and on the key-tag for your van.
