Wondering what to do with a year’s worth of pent-up wanderlust? How about a road trip to the Poconos—complete with a loose itinerary of activities perfect for the days you want to explore and the days you don’t? Sound good? If so, now’s the time to plan. Summer’s almost here and the pandemic’s almost gone, and major production shortages and supply chain disruptions have left thousands of vacation-seekers scrambling for transportation. Thankfully, we’ve got connections. And if it’s a 12- or 15-passenger van you’re in need of—because it’s a big family or couples’ trip you’re planning—you’re in luck. And while you’re thinking things through, here’s some more stuff to consider: A golf course in the Poconos to visit as a group

A ROOF OR TENT OVER YOUR HEAD

Looking to get back to nature? More interested in mini-bars and room service? There are plenty of options that cater to a variety of preferences. The Poconos are your oyster from tent sites to cottages and cabins to glamping (glamorous camping… because why not?) and family-friendly resorts and inns. But as with all things vacation-related, planning and reserving space ahead of time is paramount.

A RETURN TO NATURE

The Poconos are prime hiking-and-biking territory and offer some pretty spectacular trails that get you back to nature. The 5-mile mountain hike at Tobyhanna State Park. The shorter, more casual, waterfall-filled trails at Bushkill Falls. The 45-mile stretch of Appalachian Trail. It’s all there for the taking—and it’s sure to give everyone some unforgettable memories.

A TRIP TO THE GREEN

Whether you’re teaching your little ones how to swing or bonding with your buddies, the Poconos are a golfer’s paradise. From small private clubs to sprawling resort systems, there are plenty of courses and practice spaces to choose from and plenty of fun to be had.

A TOAST TO LOCAL TASTE

Local breweries and taprooms give you a chance to get an authentic taste of the Poconos. The Shawnee Craft Brewing Company and the Pocono Brewery Company—just to name a couple—are definitely worth a visit. Whatever your tastes and whatever your getaway goals, the Poconos has it all—hiking, biking, boating, horse-riding, adventure parks—and a whole lot more.

But if you’re thinking about heading out there, do yourself a favor and start planning today. It all starts with choosing the right vehicle.
